OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is based on the long term development of players rather than a weekend result or trophy.

At Astrella Academy of Football we focus on unique, attention to detail coaching techniques that will improve each players technical ability on the ball based on exclusive visits to FC Barcelona’s world famous academy, La Masia.

Our coaches don’t just ask a player to perform a skill or technique but instead use FC Barcelona’s philosophy which means the player understanding:

How? Why? When? Where?

These four elements give the player more understanding of the technique or skill they’re performing and improve their individual skill set and appreciation of team mates.

Players attend Astrella Academy of Football to enhance their grassroots commitments through our coaching sessions as we don’t have teams competing or playing in local leagues.

Our sessions

Our sessions and coaching give each player individual learning objectives that enable players to set their own targets and goals to aspire to, supported by our coaches.

Players continue to play for their grassroots team at weekends but play games representing Astrella Academy of Football on Monday (Salisbury) and Wednesday (Chandlers Ford) evenings against both professional football club academies as well as other grassroots teams.

This games programme enables all players that are committed to playing for their local teams to also receive extra coaching at Astrella Academy of Football without any conflict. These games will see recruitment teams from professional football club academies in attendance.
