OUR PHILOSOPHY

A large part of our philosophy comes from intensive visits to a number of professional football clubs academies and first team coaching sessions from across the globe. These studies include highly technical sessions and attention to detail coaching points used for studies at Sporting Lisbon, Athletic Bilbao, Southampton FC, Liverpool International Academy in Michigan, USA as well as the world famous FC Barcelona La Masia that has produced the likes of Lionel Messi, Andreas Iniesta and Xavi, amongst others.

Astrella Academy of Football uses unique methods, both on and off the pitch, accumulated from these football club’s as well as ideas and thoughts from our own forward thinking coaching team, to piece together a whole person and player package for all age groups to develop and improve their football education whilst having fun and developing social skills.

Our sessions

Our sessions and coaching give each player Individual Learning Objective’s that enable players to set their own targets and goals to aspire to with the support of our coaches. Players continue to play for their grassroots team at weekends but play games representing Astrella Academy of Football on Monday (Salisbury) and Wednesday (Chandlers Ford) evenings against both professional football club academies as well as other grassroots teams. This games programme enables all players that are committed to playing for their local teams can also receive extra coaching at Astrella Academy of Football without any conflict. These games will see recruitment teams from professional football club academies in attendance.
